Hi, looking for a 4 watt fm mono or stereo pll 12v and found this...

I'm not overly keen on the look but was almost willing to give it a go. Then viewed the back, which suspicions tell me this these are just Chinese boards repackaged. Could be wrong. Opinions please.

If its got the 8066 chip in, it will sound nice but you wont be able to do rds.

Years back I had a 150w 8066 Chinese rig on the bench, The harmonics were clean but depending on what power level you set it on, You would often see out of band spurs on 60-70Mhz. The cleanest output I found was setting the power level to "100" on the lcd. Funnily enough setting the rig to "100" gave me 175w out (in real life). I think the Chinese need to sharpen up on the calibrating lol

I have an FMT 150w there is a thread on here, which I posted a long time back with photos not a cheap transmitter, by all accounts, it had a good visual re review here, but perhaps it was another transmitter you mention, either way id be interested to know. I keep hearing about this Chip, i am not a tech when it comes to building transmitters. Regarding the 8066. I'm not sure if I read right, but thought it didn't have the 8066 in the vintronics 1 watt anymore or am I wrong? Not fussed about RDS.
