I enjoyed it, reminded me of mono pirates back then, listening through a friends 8 inch full range speaker with the silver round thing in the middle, bolted into a badly made hole in the back of a bedside cabinet, ghetto style.. on a Friday night. He had one of those green back lit silvfer facia tuner amp and dial combo that you could get from second hand shop for about £15 like a Trio, Hitachi, Marantz,Toshiba one. They were great had good antenna connections for pulling signal in. Usually a MW antenna terminals and a 75ohm or 300ohm for FM.
the amp were usually 15-40W output
Much better than the Saisho stuff or Matsui Dixons and curries sold. Black plastic one piece rubbish.
He used to get mullered and then his mum would shout up to ask him to do some brain zapping job like sort the VHS recorder out that had gone wrong. Almost got my raving shoes on good share.

The dial is Glowing 88-108 , spin the wheel to light those Red LEDs , see signal needle rise.
