Interferance in london
Not sure who it is as the geezer i work with listens to kiss in the lorry (fuckin annoying repeating station on 100.0) Every time we get to cartain parts of east london a pirate cuts in and causes major interference, not sure who it is as i dont get the chance to scan the dial as my driver isnt interested, has anyone else experienced this around east london?

Your probably going very close to 1 of the 2 stations Tx sites that are below and above 100.0. Being Millenium Supreme 99.8fm or House fm 100.3.

Kiss Isn't in East though and there power is a lot stronger but obviously not in this particular area. And how fare is the radius that this is happening? cant imagine it is a very big area.s2000 wrote:I have always wondered how millennium get away with broadcasting 200 khz from kiss in the area they are in!

Yes Mr Teckniqs! that my point it has been like that for years.. But where were you getting them cutting in in East you must be minutes from there TX site. How big is the area??
Does anyone remember the H stack that was up at Tower Hamlets? not naming the stations it was but I wonder if the noticed that in about a mile radius of the block they were coming out on 87.9. It would have one of the station audio with the others RDS coming out on 87.9. I was on an internet station in the area at the time, for around a year. I would check it every week and it was always there and nothing was done about. It did make me wonder about H stacks and what bad they can do.

You're not on about the old Kool FM and Rinse FM back to back double stacks on the same pole are you? That's going back a little bit now.

Re: Interferance in london
In all fairness then, they weren't 'H' stacks as such, they were 2 completely separate arrays facing opposite directions. I doubt it would make any difference to having them on separate poles or even blocks.
...And back then I know they both used a good builder who didn't build dirty rigs that are likely to cause these problems.

That will be the result of intermod also known as a mixing product, which can cause problems for stations who block share or transmit from neighbouring blocks.chesney79 wrote:Yes Mr Teckniqs! that my point it has been like that for years.. It all depends on the receiver too, I know Crystal Palace used to put out loads of crap which used to wipe out the top end of the dial at my old pal's house in Streatham on his HiFi, but with my radio it wasn't affected at all.

From a distance what would you say it looks like? H stack is an easy way to describe it that's all..teckniqs wrote:Correct, hence my above post....

Let's just agree that it's 2 separate aerials which were used by 2 different stations which to the untrained eye, look like 'H' stacks.
Sweet.
