I can see something inducting and getting hot.

as i mentioned, its not the final build, i just wanted to get it together until i get a better case for it.

Don't be affraid to browse sites with rf advices and try to find some books on the net. This is expensive hobby, but more serious problem than burned output fet or capacitor is health and safety. Usual way is to build exciters with low output power first and once you get familiar with rf, go to high power stuff.




Maybe this looks ugly, but that is my semi-healed thumb after it was burned with output of 150w transmitter. By the way, it doesn't heal every time you get burned and it is painful like hell!

been playing with 50w tugicoms for the last few years, its the first time ive gone up in power..

I can see youve been getting a hard time here but all the comments are for your safety And the safety of your very expensive equipment!
I do agree! with kit like that? you should spend a bit more time researching and giving it a nice snug but cool enclosure for it to live in! Short neat wiring, two 80mm fans atleast!
I did go to the tugicom website to look at the manuals to see if i could help?
Unfortunately they are unavailable on the site!
If you dont dont already have the manuals? i suggest you get in touch with tugicom straight away!

yeah i have the manuals for the individual parts, amp300 and the exciter..
Yeah im looking at one of the aluminium enclosures that many of the UK rigs seem to be built in, im guessing they are dutch?

To be honest, i know im getting a hard time, but im expecting that.. being new and making mistakes.. its all part of the learning curve!
