Any pirates in Greater Manchester area?
Hey Guys, Great forum, and I'm glad to have joined it. I used to operate in Rochdale, near Littleborough, on 99.7 back in the mid 90s for about a Year until we nearly got caught. Happy Days! It was IBC, 104.4 I think, and some other station that ignited the flame for me. Anyway, are there any pirates still operating around the Manchester/Cheshire area?

The only station left in Manchester is Irie 105.8, they have been going for years but only cover a small area due to the low TX site and poor choice of frequency. They're always on during the weekend and most weekday evenings.

Miss that Mixology 101.4 that I heard once last Summer -had a great 90s playlist and the Gary Vandalise DJ was shit hot.
I can't even hear that Irie effort on high ground within a few miles as it gets completely swamped by 105.9 over in Liverpool.![Rolling Eyes ](./images/smilies/icon_rolleyes.gif)

Irie only really covers their own areas like Old Trafford, Hulme, Moss Side, Whalley Range and Longsight. When I lived in Chorlton 105.9 used to interfere with them and that's only about 2 or so miles away from them.

On again last night , seem to just run for a few hours in the night and switch off. Probably running direct I'm guessing at. Still though hearing something on makes me feel that bug again lol

Haven't heard this in ages, but then again I haven't really been looking. Had a quick listen yesterday evening after I saw your post but nothing, probably too early. I'll try later tonight after nine.

Yeah nothing on the dial tonight, just checked in the car. Maybe try next Friday night. Their audio was nice and crisp, mic a touch loud but not ott. Mostly hiphop/rnb and oldskool dance I heard.

Re: Any pirates in Greater Manchester area?
I'm sorry I missed this - I remember Blitz from back in the day. Good station.
Any plans on coming back on, or was it a flash in the pan like Mixology last year?
There's nothing whatsoever to listen to here in Greater Manchester these days.

Haha...Yeah it seemed to be the norm around Moss Side so I thought why not! Was only for one day though unlike a few others running every day with massive house stacks like that. ![Very Happy :D](./images/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif)
