Even brought down to the lowest power I can 300mw or so with the final in circuit, the band noise is a disaster, unusable. I wonder if removing final stage will quieten it, worth trying otherwise I will toss it, no great loss. I am trying to keep the small smd transistor output going through the coil arrangement, i appreciate there it no power tweak option but i am guessing each stage of gain is a potential for more crud coming out on these things. Barely worth the time but one last shot.
Welcome, think many of the stages are fine, the chip is obviously not a clean source, the little sma transistors are amplfiying the noise its producing passing it on. The rf output device the one with the 1971 numbers on it, is susceptible to different loading conditions so can go haywire. Stereo sound is better on the 8066, as what the german’s said less cross talk. :tup
I had to do a lot of work on mine, in the end I ended up with 1w at the bottom end of the band, inteference across all other fm stations within 10-15 meters away, so not useable.
