Yes it is still on (when it can) only occasional as the site is far from ideal, and of course not at the moment due to Ramadan being on the same dial. They have the licence so silence until they bugger off.
Good to here the audio is good.

If I saw it come up on the RDS I'd think it's an RSL for the Scouts.

Going back to the thread title,
Update: Picked up Raw in a village on some high ground on the other side of Oxford to me last week, signal and RDS was cracking through. Shame its in mono, nevertheless, well done fellas, audio quality is excellent.

Whats wrong with Mono ? Most London pirates are mono apart from the odd few and some of these that are in stereo i find has a hiss and more radio noise when further out whereas i switch car radio to mono and its fine

Re: uk raw 87.5
The additional bandwidth of stereo means that you need four times the power to get the same coverage as in mono. Back in the 80s there was a station operator who couldn't understand this
(he ended up on a legal station with the same name for a while) and kept complaining to the guys building his rigs that the signal was noisy at range.
One night when he phoned up to moan from his house (that was about 15 miles across town), I switched their stereo coder off, and he didn't notice the change, except that the hiss had gone.... We told him that it was a more powerful rig and he owed us another couple of hundred quid!
If you have a good site and you have someone who can build good, clean rigs, and you can assemble, adjust and install an efficient aerial, you can get the ERP up and run stereo. I might have to show the kiddies how it's done over the August Bank Holiday......

"Why is my rig humming?"
"Because it doesn't know the words!"

Re: uk raw 87.5
Probably taken directly via the stream and not recorded from FM, so no doubt be (hiss free) stereo.
