The band's going to be full of wailing for the next month. It's F***ing Ramadan. OFCOM give the ethnically challenged loads of RSLs every year. Given what happened last Monday, I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of these were jammed and had rigs "borrowed".

It's bankholiday so they may get a spot of interference this weekend if the big transmitter of radio Brittania pops up! It is a Ramadan station. Was just stunned coz I've never heard an rsl on 99.9 over this way, thought they were given 87.7-87.9 round here.. Oh well..I used to listen to club Asia sometimes but not a Ramadan station..pfft.

yeah more experience I have of the world the less I want to be part of, nusiaunce nieghtbors, to farmers annoyed about you walking on 'their land' I feel I have had my fair share of stuff lately, I would live where there wheren't any people at all.

think the 2 asian rsls on 87.7 & 87.9 have gone off air today, using them to test my gp aerial which i’ve edging higher up, hoping to get my aerial high enough that the auto seek tuning would lock on them on my car radio, think the other on 99.9 may of gone off air.

Last time i heard him the signal seemed to be coming from the west of Sheffield instead of the usual north..If so he was up some big fuck off hill so not surprised he got out to lincs.. Good on him!

In my days in Yorkshire, we came from sites up near Halifax and Bradford. There were some spectacularly high sites up there. We never ran more than about 600W (about 2kW ERP - with a colinear aerial). My best achievement was to get a cassette tape of one of my programmes from a guy in Finland!

Apparently he uses 1kw from a mountain but on top of a van only he gets to scotland sometimes but not great southbound never on for long though

used to beable to hear the sheffield/leeds pirates up at sutton bank as clear as you could hear them in west yorkshire, always thought it was cool when you got up kirkstall abbey on the way to guiseley started hearing sheffield pirates even that seemed far away. dream had a transmitter up there, odd thing is when was up near otley i could hear the york transmitter much clearer, i’m never sure how their transmitter got out so far from there, sure york is at sea level.

as for ken reaching scotland think you might thinking of the am signal, guessing it could problaly be heard at sutton banks the signal is simliar to a sheffield pirate back in the day, i’m guessing there wouldn’t be much fm signal in the veil of york problaly lots of dead patches until you get to a hill.

interesting thread thought on sheffield forum, you can see lincoln cathedral from sheffield, the farest you can see killburn white horse, howardian hills so thats the limit
