Raspberry Pi 3 audio boards

What audio boards are you using with Raspberry Pi’s if any? Is it worth the expense or just use the split audio from the HDMI port?

I've used "Audio Injector" boards with the Raspberry Pi. These are (by far) the best I've used. You can get them from Pimoroni
