Any ideas whose this Band I Link Receiver is...?
Digging through some old piles of junk the other day, I came across this old board. It was (I think) a Band I link receiver used somewhere in the south east. Can anyone identify the builder?

Have you powered it up?

I know it's been stripped for parts so no point powering it up, was just interested in where it might have come from. I'm not 100% sure how I got hold of it, as it was about 25 years ago. I think it may have been used by a station in the South East (not London), but that's only because the person that gave me it (and a whole load of other boards) was based near Portsmouth.

There is a guy on eBay from Greece (jpl995) who can supply you with 1w PLL transmitter for STL band one, all you need to do is add or build a simple amp to it for a few more watts.
....But as far as receivers go they are getting very hard to come by these days, especially PLL versions.

I found one of those receivers in a pile of miscellaneous junk, under my workbench. Someone had snipped the corners off, and stuffed it into a 2oz tobacco tin! I fired it up, and it still appears to work - at least it received my signal generator from a few metres away! When I'm in that place again, I'll take a picture and put it up here.
