BBC radio stations to relocate
The BBC has announced a major reorganisation plan to move radio services out of London. Good idea?

A fair amount of programming comes out of Salford already, so it's just part of their cost-cutting and streamlining.
The interesting part will be what they decide to do with FM/DAB later on.

Re: BBC radio stations to relocate
They moved tv there too, their still transmitting radio 4 on LW, it will not go off air until next year, from what I can gather nothing is going to happen, it would not save any money cutting local radio, whether that means fm transmitters, but surely it must cost money to keep them going, at some point their going to have go online, because there will be so few people listening to them, through the old transmitters.
I've never heard the main transmitter at holme moss be off for long periods, I can imagine in future, something goes wrong, so few people are there they don't bother to fix it, probably more technical problems in future, we already had woolmoor transmitter sprogging, I think I heard a while ago there was a problem with a medium wave transmitter think it was 5 live..
