The swiss are giving up fm
Sad news, wonder if anyone will notice, seems to be due to the cost, theres also been talk about it been because of been hilly, hilly areas always makes me think of using low power transmitters you get that shadow effect, were you get a stronger signal further away, really hilly areas often used to be quite interesting, you often get no stations down in valleys every station at the top. https://www.bakom.admin.ch/bakom/en/hom ... 98326.html

Unfortunately I think it will end up in a similar to what happened to am, the only good thing is it will go back to white noise, commercial interests will go else were., which (the white noise) some people might want turn it up really loud
remember the period before the 105-108 was vacant.
It will start with them reducing power, turning off the transmitters when there aren’t enough listeners, I guess their not going to make it so it costs no money to broadcast, they have the costs of maintenance rental, they'll want to close sooner or later, when the figures no make sense, the licences will just get handed by when the listeners drop below a certain level, when most people are listening through smart speakers or smarties for short
. Before small mp3 transmitters came along no transmission was legal, it was only in 2005 they were made legal, there was never any part 15 anything of that nature, think thats one of the reasons were likely to be left with nothing, so were likely just be there with round the house transmitters in the end, blaring white noise
, sad.
