87.8 Leeds

Radio Frequency Leeds on 87.8 now being picked up on the Wakefield sdr. "Live" dj but guessing an old recording based on mentions of myspace pages.

Anyone in south yorks know if this is actually getting out or just local to the sdr?

I've just checked and it sounds like an old Acid Techno recording from the early 90s, not the kind of stuff RF881 used to play as far as I always remember.

....The signal strength seems better as well, last time I checked the signal was down to about 27dB with Wk-End being relayed but now it's around 44dB playing this.

I tried a few weeks ago when I heard it, it must be uber low powered close by, I don’t get it here, I took a walk on high ground at the time, were I can usually get the 10w rsl jobs, there was just weakish rte.

Don’t forget the antenna was pointing south listening to french culture afew weeks ago, the op had to take it down, I didn’t listen to it for a while because of that. It was pointing north west yesterday, maybe towards the blackhill transmitter, since it was there with rds on 95.8, it means signal strength readings can’t be accurate.
I heard some talk on that frequency 87.8 while walking about, guessing there might be still some atmospherics, i'm not sure it was rte

Hi hijacking this I heard the song I was trying to get hold of on this last week (the spanish type song I mentioned else were with the flute/deep pan flute, flamenco type woman in it) signal seems to gone now, the past day or so, they could do with turning the volume up, it seems to go low on it…they do like their old pirate recordings, it was either an old recording of dream fm (Leeds) or a mix tape, after it a song came on ‘space nasa’ if that helps, went and listened to the whole volume 5 house mixtape on soundcloud couldn’t find the song. I’m sure the house mixtape was played through on it, heard Fantasy fm recording, italo disco heard also, lot of variation
