Nick Richards' Pirate Stations

Post by Dec Wash » Fri Nov 15, 2024 11:48 am

Nick Richards is an example of an Englishman who started on pirate radio in England and got involved with Irish pirates. He is one of a smaller group who ultimately settled down in Ireland, presenting on licensed Irish radio. He has presented on licensed Cork radio for many years now, first on 96FM and then on C103.

Below is what I have learnt about his pirate career so far. Maybe people could fill in missing blanks, particularly his land-based pirates in England.

British pirates :

Radio Caroline – both on the Mi Amigo (late 1970s to 1980) and the Ross Revenge (mid 1980s)

Land-based pirates – which ones?

Irish pirates:

Southside Radio – Dun Laoghaire, Co. Dublin

South Coast Radio, WBEN - Cork City

Kiss FM – Monaghan Town
